Your DEFEND Camera is a simple, easy-to-use, and cost-effective way to deter, document, and reduce crime at any location you want to keep an eye on; from your family’s home or winter cabin to a construction site, warehouse, office, stored RV, or boat marina.
Installing and Aiming your security camera correctly will help ensure that it captures all of the action you want it to capture while also reducing false triggers. Here’s a quick primer on how to place your wireless, cellular security camera to get the most protection.
How to Position Your Security Camera for Ideal Coverage
- When mounting your DEFEND Camera, use the included hardware to mount the unit. This will allow you to move it up and down easily, as well as to the left and right.
- Mount the unit about 8 feet off the ground, and aim it to the locations that you are trying to defend. Keep in mind that the camera has 100-foot detection range, with a recommended target area being 70 feet away from the camera.
- Aim your camera so it is most likely to capture images of anyone approaching your site.
- Minimize false triggers by aiming the camera away from unrelated high-traffic areas, such as roads.
- If you are getting false triggers, adjust the motion detection sensitivity in the app.
- Make sure to check images in your app to ensure the camera angle is optimal–practice walking up to the unit, then check the app to make sure the captured image is what you want.
- Need to move your camera or adjust it? No problem! Because the DEFEND Camera is true wireless, you can move it in a matter of minutes.
