This new feature, which is included in every in-use and new DEFEND camera, gives users the ability to tap into their camera’s live view feed to see and hear what is happening. Here’s a quick run-down on how it works.
What Is Live View?
Live View is a new feature from Tactacam DEFEND that allows users to go through the DEFEND app to see and hear what is happening live at the camera site no matter where they are.
By activating Live View, users get a two-minute session, which can be extended for another two minutes if needed. The number of live views users get per month depends on what plan they have chosen.
While Live View is view only, there is an option to take a screen grab and save the image for later.
How Do I Use Live View?
Using Live View is easy. From your DEFEND app, click on the camera you want a live view of, then once there, click on the “Live View” button. It takes 10-12 seconds to enter Live View. A notice will appear when there is 10 seconds remaining in the session.
If you mistakenly click on Live View, you have several seconds to disconnect the session and avoid using one of your live views for the month.
How Do I Activate Live View?
Great news–Live View updates will automatically appear on your DEFEND Camera during its next check in. Live View is also automatically included in everyone’s DEFEND plan, whether that is Starter or Pro, and a new Premium plan is available if you want to upgrade to unlimited Live View sessions.
- Start Plan members get three Live View sessions per month
- Pro Plan members get five Live View sessions per month
- Premium Plan members get unlimited Live View sessions per month
What is the DEFEND Premium Plan?
Premium Plan is the new DEFEND subscription plan available to DEFEND users. For just $19 a month, or $175 a year, Premium Plan members get unlimited photos, unlimited Live View sessions, and standard 60-day cloud storage.
Plus can be added to every account for only $9 a month. It upgrades cloud storage to one year and grants unlimited HD video and photo downloads and unlimited on-demand video and photo requests. It also gives you early access to new features. One Plus plan covers each and every camera on your account.
